Russ has nearly twenty years leading strategic and creative teams at the forefront of digital design. Ultimately, he’s happiest when he can bring together sound insights, digital innovation, and creative story-telling.

He started thinking and writing about online experiences while working towards his PhD on digital storytelling and performance from the University of Calgary. While in graduate school, Russ joined a dot-com to lead their design team and decided that was the path to follow. Growing along with the digital industry, he has lead creative teams in-house and for agencies delivering projects for global brands including: AT&T, Blue Shield of California, Clorox, Coca-Cola, Disney, ESPN, INFINITI, Kraft Foods, MTV, Nissan, SAP, and the United Way.

Russ currently lives in Calgary and is a strategy director for Critical Mass. He regularly writes on digital experiences and continues to return to universities as an instructor and guest speaker.
