Michael Swaine’s “Reap What You Sew” Generosity Project involved him pushing a cart on wheels in the city streets with a treadle-operated sewing machine on it and offering to fix, tailor and patch any clothing or fabric that people wanted him to work on. While in the Project Space he would like people to bring him socks that have holes in them and that need fixing. Swaine received a BFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, School of Art and Design, Alfred, NY and studied advanced ceramics and sculpture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
