Jim is a Mac OS X and iOS developer who has been writing software exclusively for OS X for the last ten years. In his first job he implemented a real-time serial streaming protocol for PalmOS and Windows/Mac, and spent the next six years as principal OS X developer on the only real competitor to Apple’s Workgroup Manager and Macintosh Manager products. He wrote the original third-party software installer for the AppleTV, and created an AppleTV-based digital signage system installed in over 1500 locations throughout the US. Today he holds the post of lead iOS developer at Kobo, where he is in charge of the development of their iPhone and iPad e-reader applications. He is a frequent contributor to the open-source landscape, with a sizeable library of code available for use on Github.
