A master of colour and geometric composition, Andy Gilmore’s work is often characterized as kaleidoscopic and hypnotic, though it could just as well be described as visually acoustic, as his often complex arrangements reference the scales and melodies in music.

Gilmore’s journey toward this masterful style followed a long and winding road. He characterizes his pursuit of education as a tangled web, noting that the bookstores, bakeries and theatres where he worked were of more importance than the schools he attended in pursuit of his BFA, received from SUNY Empire State College.

After finishing school, Gilmore relocated to San Clemente, California, where he worked for FourStar Distribution, resizing print ads for C1RCA Footwear and Forum Snowboards. It would serve as his introduction to the computer and lay the foundation for a career in digital art and design.

Andy Gilmoreā€™s extensive list of clients includes Wired Magazine, The New York Times, Fast Company, Wallpaper*, Nike, Warp Records, and yes, Ghostly International. He currently lives and works in Rochester, New York.
