Presentation

Overview

If you are a Flash developer, project manager or producer who loves the creativity but struggles with the rest of it, this panel session is for you. Our panelists will present briefly on the following topics then respond to your career/business questions:

-opportunities for original Flash work in today’s anxious marketplace?

Independent creator/developer Franke James doesn’t just talk about creating and marketing original content, she’s doing it! Hear about her latest project, on that has sponsors lining up.

-There are a lot of questions about what you should do to balance the need to get your work out there with the need to protect it. Lawyer Trever Dencott doesn’t just talk copyright, he helps people license games and original content. Everything you need to know about using other people’s work and ho to protect your own (or not, you decide!)

-You’re an artist, not a business person, so how are you supposed to make a living? Jean-Pierre Lacroix, President of Lacroix Brandesign recently spearheaded a new book on Professional Practices for the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario and will review the nuts and bolts of builing your business. (The book will be available at the Festival.)
