This session will cover the major stages of a digital project and the specific challenges of each phase. From the initial concept phase through to the post-ship support, Trent Oster will walk you through his experiences in games and his experiences as a digital distribution start-up. Trent will discuss each of the major development phases, how those phases are delineated and how they impact a project when things go wrong. He will cover project management techniques from basic waterfall, some PMBOK references and Agile methodologies like scrum. Trent will also review lessons learned at Bioware during his 15-year game development career and some new lessons learned in the creation of Beamdog, his new digital distribution portal.
