Overview

Note that this is a pre-festival workshop day (Sept 12), and therefore is only available to those who have ‘the works’ tickets, or the ‘pre-festival workshop’ tickets

This course will introduce you to both the design and programming elements of creating and deploying applications for the iPhone. We will be covering the Objective-C programming language, X Code, Interface Builder, and the iPhone emulator.

Audience:
This course is for developers who have experience programming with Flash and ActionScript. The examples and analogies used in this class will compare the development environment of the iPhone SDK with the development environment of Flash and ActionScript. Comparing these two environments will help experienced Flash developers understand the iPhone SDK in a way that is already familiar to them. It will be an introductory level course for the iPhone environment, but it is expected that people attending this workshop are fully comfortable with programming concepts.

REQUIREMENTS: An Apple computer running the latest Mac OSX (Leopard) that is capable of having the iPhone SDK installed on it.

Attain:

At the end of this intensive 1/2 day workshop, programmers will be confident in knowing what steps are required to build and deploy iPhone applications. You will walk away with many working examples that will help jump-start your own iPhone applications.

Computer Policy: To keep prices this low, this workshop is bring-your-own-laptop.
