Overview

Note that this is a Pre-Festival Workshop Day (April 24), and therefore is only available to those who have ‘The Works’ ticket, or the ‘Pre-Festival Workshop’ ticket.

With the release of Flash CS5 approaching quickly, this workshop will explore some of the ActionScript 3 APIs that have been introduced in CS5.

One of the highly anticipated features of CS5 is its ability to export files that are compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch devices. One of the main focuses of this workshop will be to learn how to create, test, and deploy applications for the iPhone created entirely with the Flash CS5 programming environment (either using Mac OS X or Windows).

All attendees will receive a copy of Flash CS5 Beta (Trial Version) to use for this workshop. Attendees with an iPhone or iPod Touch can bring those devices to test their applications on their own devices.

This workshop is for programmers with experience in ActionScript 3. Those programmers who are still stuck in ActionScript 2 are welcome to attend, but this workshop will not be teaching the basics of AS3.
