Presentation

Overview

This presentation brings together wonderful design and art inspiration from the past and culminates with modern graphic software to bring the past to the present.

The presentation is broken into three parts: Part one involves a look at inspirational materials from the past including movie title sequences, Swiss poster design, television network logo animation, movie posters etc, outlining what elements and design cues were prevalent during different eras of the 20th century. This inspiration segways into part 2, which will be a showcase of my work and how I use that inspiration to create. This part will also touch on software processes, tips and tricks. Finally, part 3 is a brief outline of the online tools I use (WordPress, Flickr, Twitter, etc.) in order to spread my artwork and connect with other creatives across the globe.

Who this presentation is for:
Design and art students looking for inspiration and industry advice, and those nostalgic types who enjoy blasts from the past.

What attendees will take from this presentation?
An exposure to specific inspiration from the past, design history, advice on harnessing inspiration, and a better understanding of the online tools available to get their names and works out there.
